Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) (P.H) and (S/L) Multiple Openings
Brief Description: DSP II is responsible for the overall direct support of the person assigned to him/her. S/he will attend to the needs of the person such as assistance with personal hygiene, household chores, community outings, etc. The DSP II will be trained according to individual needs and requirements. This is a floating position with no set hours. It may move to a P/T schedule.
Requirements: High School Diploma. Must be able to pass background check, clean driving record, reliable transportation, valid LA driver’s license, auto insurance and current brake tag. Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities preferred, mature, and dependable and have good human relations skills.
Benefits: Seven holidays paid @ rate of 1.25 times above hourly rate.
P/T Food Court Counter Representative Hours: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm M-F Openings: 1
Brief Description: Assist storefront team in kitchen duties and food preparation. Provide excellent customer service in a fast paced lunch environment. Maintain food pars for service. Daily cleaning of location including dishes.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must have knowledge of and experience in commercial kitchen and food preparation. Must be able to lift heavy pots and small kitchen appliances. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Great customer service skills.
Horticulturist/Grounds Maintenance Mgr.
Hours: 8am – 4pm M-F, some weekends or nights for special projects Openings: 1
Brief Description:
Responsible for the overall operations of Vintage Garden & Co. Direct, organize and prioritize all grounds maintenance services including developing, and presenting competitive bid proposals, sales, purchasing, customer relations, supervision of employees and responsibility for completion and quality of all contracts. Coordinates with Arc’s Employment Services dept. on all issues for crew members with disabilities. Coordinates with Employment Development Services on sales and service of all state government contracts.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture. Knowledge of turf maintenance, tree care, plant identification, plant diseases pest and weed control. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and perform under pressure in front of customers and employees. 5 years experience with managing large grounds maintenance contracts, budgets and staff. Must have 2 years of direct experience in valuing, estimating and bidding large contracts. Must have a proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Must have a proven ability to handle complex systems, methods, and tasks where frequent independent interpretation and decision is required. Must have strong oral and written communication. Must be organized and able to manage several tasks simultaneously. Must hold current LA licenses in landscape horticulture, chemical application and irrigation. Knowledge of small engine repair necessary. (Simple welding ability a plus.) Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekend hours. Must have a valid LA driver’s license and auto insurance.

P/T Transportation Driver Hours: (7am- 9 am and 3pm-5pm) M-F (Must be able to drive both morning & afternoon shifts). Openings: 1
Brief Description: Drivers are responsible for providing morning and/or afternoon transportation for participants in the Individual Options program. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures. Responsible for recording and maintaining documentation required for vehicle and riders. Requirements: High School Diploma. Must have a valid LA driver’s license, auto insurance and a clear driving record. Must have the ability to drive a 9 or 15 passenger van, assists riders when entering or exiting the van and have the ability to push/pull, lift and/or carry a minimum of 150 pounds.
P/T Farm Supervisor Hours: 22 per week, M-F Openings: 1
Brief Description: Work with manager to develop & implement garden business plan. Responsible for budget management, invoicing & reporting. Supervise and train all crew members. Supervise volunteer projects. Flexible hours – may work some weekend markets and projects. Keep gardens neat and well maintained. Keep all supplies clean, facilities neat and well organized. Responsible for weeding, soil amendment, seeding, transplanting, harvesting, cleaning and readying produce and plants for sale – including weighing and pricing. Responsible for maintaining documentation needed for invoicing. Lead role in securing local produce for Vintage Garden Kitchen.
Requirements: High School Diploma and valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule. Must have extensive experience in organic farming, sustainable practices, business management, farmer’s markets, seeding, harvesting, soil amendment, composting, planning and supervision of others. Must have a positive attitude and be willing to work with people with disabilities. Good communications skills a must and have an ability to collaborate with community and other business partners.
Grounds Maintenance Crew Leader Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm M-F Openings: 1
Brief Description: The Crew Leader’s primary function is to perform various grounds maintenance duties (i.e. working crew leader), transport and supervise crew members. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year commercial landscape experience. At least one year supervisory experience. Ability to diagnose problems to prevent damage to all equipment. Ability to work independently and demonstrates problem solving skills. Must have LA valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
